"Alpine Photo Album" is a series of wildlife and landscape photos taken by Carmen Asensio in and around Champery and Val-d'Illiez, in Switzerland. Champery is a village located at the foot of the Dents Blanches and Dents du Midi Montains of the Valais Alps.  

 

Carmen Asensio specializes in Alp wildlife and landscape photography as well as domestic farm animals. All wildlife was photographed in its natural environment with respect for its habitat and well being. The settings for Carmen's wildlife photography are remote and rustic Alpine settings, many taken under difficult weather conditions.

 

 

 

CARMEN ASENSIO was born in Barcelona, but she raised in Valais (Switzerland). She graduated from Geneva University with degrees in Philosophy and Art.  Alpine nature and photography have been always part of her life.

 

In 2008,

- four Carmen's images have reached the semifinal stage of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, competing against 32,000 entries from over 3,000 photographers and

- one image reached the final stage of the Festival International de Montier-en-Der
